Jacelyn is a visual artist and designer from Singapore, based in London. Creating under her moniker Bbblob, she explores harmony in form and colour. Inspired by playful observations in nature, she works with a soft geometry. Her practice sits between painting and object making, working across painting, sculpture, textiles and murals.
Guided by the interaction of forms, she arranges them into transient states, suggesting movement. Jacelyn reflects on nature and the self, looking at the way they adapt towards one another. Influenced by urban landscapes, she contrasts concrete forms with the softness of colour and emotion.
Through creating, she engages with the surface to form layers and depth, playing with perception. In observing balance, she adds to or subtracts from the surface, finding a sense of lightness. Forms float, stack, tilt and overlap. A language that is shaped and shifting emerges.
